They say attitude is everything, right?
I mean, I can’t help but agree! 🙋🏽♀️
I know that when it comes to learning how to read, a students’ attitude towards reading makes a BIG difference.
In fact, I have to admit that even their families’ attitude towards reading makes a difference, too!
- Do they read at home?
- Is reading modeled for them?
- What do they think of reading? Is it fun?
- Do they go to the library or bookstore?
- Can their parents/Do their parents buy them books?
- Have they been exposed to nonfiction text?
Knowing the answers to these questions can help you learn about your students. So why not ask?
