What’s Included in the Free Christmas Phonics Worksheets?
FREE Christmas Letter Sounds Phonics Worksheets
The Merry Sounds activity requires students to look at each picture, say the word, and determine the beginning sound. All pictures start with the /m/ or /n/ sound.
Just in case students do not understand which word a picture represents, a clipart key is included for parents, teachers, and tutors. Words are provided out of order and upside down.
Students cut and paste pictures into the appropriate column to show their answer.
FREE Christmas CVC Worksheet
Reading words with targeted phonics skill in the context of a sentence is an essential part of learning to read through phonics.
In this set, students must read two decodable sentences. These sentences include only CVC words and sight words.
In order to show comprehension, students choose which sentence matches the provided picture.
Plus, all sentences follow a cute Christmas theme!
FREE Christmas Digraphs Coloring Worksheet
Students represent their knowledge of digraphs by coloring according to the digraph/sound in each picture.
This really requires students to think. They can’t just color every word that starts with the text “sh” red.
They have to think about the picture, say the word, and listen for the digraph.
In the end, they’ve colored a beautiful sleigh picture (while reinforcing digraph concepts).
FREE Christmas Decodable Reader for Beginning Blends Practice
Students, parents, and teachers alike are obsessed with these Decodable Readers.
I totally get why! They’re no prep but they provide a quick boost of confidence for readers of any level.
The stories are just long enough to engage a new reader and hold their attention, without leading to frustration.
I just knew I had to include them in the seasonal phonics bundles!
In this Christmas Phonics freebie, I’ve included one decodable book that focuses on beginning blends.
Remember, it is decodable, so it only includes basic sight words, beginning blends, and beginning and ending digraphs.
Differentiate Your Phonics Practice
Each seasonal phonics bundle includes a set of activities for practicing letter sounds, CVC words, digraphs and blends.
This way, you can target all of your students phonics needs, while they are all doing similar activities.
