Expanding Sentences Activity
I was recently sent a copy of Glen Penrod’s picture book, A Cow on the Couch. I’ll be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. When the book arrived, I quickly sat down to read it and was thrilled at what I found. This book is perfect for teaching students how to expand sentences.
I won’t give the book away, but let’s just say two children tell Mr. Brown about a “situation.” As he asks them questions, they expand their sentence. I’m telling you, it makes the perfect introduction to a lesson on asking questions and expanding sentences.
I couldn’t resist making a free printable to go with it!
Read the book, and then have students expand their sentences by asking the same questions as Mr. Brown!
